Photography.
What is my favourite photo and why?
My favourite photo was the close up of the microphone. I like this photo because The white backdrop is a good compliment to the photo and also I like the angle of the microphone.
What image worked the best and why?
I think that the extreme close-up looked the best because it shows the circle with the balls inside it. I gives the impression of curiosity.
Why did you choose this subject?
I chose this subject because I found it fun previously so I did it again.
What is the story behind a certain image?
The story behind the microphone image is that the microphone is waiting to perform but is empty at the moment. I would guess that the emotions would be anticipation and nerves.
What would you change?
I would probably want to change the long shot because it seemed kind of close so maybe next time we could take the photo from the other end of the hall.

Ayla's Week 9 Weekly reflection.
Week 9 Reflection
What is something you are proud of or have found interesting in your learning recently?
- I have really enjoyed Passion projects lately. I have found it interesting when I have to find the correct quantities to make icing.
What is something you need to work on in your learning and why?
- I think that I need to work on my time management with my reading hopscotch. I have found that I have not finished what I decided to do within the reading time.
Our Tōtara goal has been Responding Appropriately, what does this mean to you?
- To me this means that we need to Respond with good manner and kindness.
How can you show Responding Appropriately?-
I need to know what the subject of the conversation is so that i can respond to the topic kindly.

Ayla's Camp Reflection.
WAINUI CAMP, 2018
What is your best memory of Tōtara camp?
- My best memory was on Thursday night when we were all playing Hide and seek in the camp building.I enjoyed how we just had free time to hang out with our friends in a different way that we do during school hours. We were laughing lots and there were smiles for Africa.
What challenged you on camp and how did you get through this challenge?
- I think that the only challenge was on the giant swing on Thursday. We were all pulling the people up on the swing and it started raining really hard and it was freezing our fingers. I just tried to think of warm things and ignored the pain in my hands.
How did you show Active Listening on camp and why was it important?
- I think that during the activities I listened well and obeyed the instructors wishes.
I did this by showing eye contact while they were talking and also when the nature around us was distracting I ignored it and carried on with what we were meant to do. It was important in the way that we could have more turns at things if people weren't talking and also the parents and instuctors did not have to get angry or unhappy.

Dear Mr. Hipkins,
My name is Ayla Ryan and I am a year 7 students at Kaiapoi North School.
I am writing to you today in regards of the new blocks at our school.
We love our classrooms that are spacious, creative and modern.
However much that we love our space there is one vital piece that is missing.
Air con is very important to help us learn. Learning in a smelly, sweaty and uncomfortable classroom really inflicts our education.
Our country respects your party and your position to help us students. We understand that you must receive hundreds of requests every day for help. But please just take out two minutes of your time to listen.
We come to school dreading the thought of annoying sand flies and horrible headaches.
Our teachers get grumpy too. They work hard to give us good skills and it must be hard for them to concentrate.
If you and your team complete our wish we would be as delighted as if we had ran a marathon!
Would you like to reward your future generation with clean classrooms and fresh air blowing?
Then please consider our request and try to improve it quickly.
